Columbia Wool??

I was wondering if anyone had the Columbia Gollatian Range wool outfit.
Is it too hot?
I read that grayish colors were better for hunting/camo than anything real dark like a lot of todays fancy camo outfits.
Is the brown pattern too dark? Is the snow too white?
Is the clothing itself very durable?
I think I'd rather go with wool than anything else. I'm thinking of buying the bibs, shirt-jack, and parka. The bibs I would use all the time, if it's too warm for the parka I'll use the shirt-jack and in the winter I'll use the parka. And if it's warm out I just won't layer underneath it. My main concern is which pattern to use, some of the reviews said that the brown was too dark.

im looking at the same stuff. every other wool brand cost an arm and 2 legs.  i havethought about the same thing about the colors.

Bro and I bought the snow in the Gallitan Range and juiced it with green walnuts with hulls crushed in water, color lasted all last season.Nice big pockets and long nuff to cover your rump a little.
  Much warmer than my other camos,like to try some expensive wool,but it doesn't get cold enough in MO to warrant the price.

Flash kinda shows it lighter than it is....

When I bought my wool camo I ended up buying woolrich because he colombia seemed to heavy to me. I tend to hike a bunch though and prefer layers. If you are sitting a stand or hunting really cold weather I think it would be great. Personally I would go with the darker pattern. Just my preference.

I have the Shirt-Jack & it's brilliant!  :D

To be fair, it doesn't get extremely cold in the UK, but we do get a lot of sleet in winter & the temperature drops to single figures. However, in those conditions the shirt-jack is perfect. Not warm enough to make you sweat (unless I'm really hiking hard or jogging  :rolleyes: ) but perfect for keeping the cold out. Not 100% windproof, but that does seem to improve when it's wet (& when it matters)
My only criticism is that it really needs more pockets. The two breast pockets arent enough & it would really benefeit from some handwarmer pockets.
I'm not sure it would be up to the job of sitting in a treestand for 7 or 8 hours in a freezing wind, but with correct underlayers it's great for stillhunting & stalking.

I have the Gallatin brown camo. It is heavy but good quality for the price. Has reinforced elbows and knees, nice big pockets and the quietest stuff i have ever worn. I will be hot in the early part of archery but up here in NW PA it can snow in mid October. Plus i like to sit in one place all day and it will keep me nice and toasty.

I have the Columbia jacket in brown, and wore it all last year in early bow and late bow season in MI.  Lows in the single digits late season, and with layering up under the coat I stayed warm in all temps.  It is a little heavy for the early season but once the temps start to fall it has worked great.  Robtattoo has it right in that it is not wind proof so you need several layers under it if you are out in the wind or blowing snow, or a good windstopper sweater might work as well.
