I have a 52lb bow on order, at 28".

I have typically shot 29 1/2" arrows.

My question, any input as far as 33/55 vs. 55/75's?

I know I'm on the fence as far as shaft size goes.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Is it a longbow or a recurve? If it is a longbow I would for sure go with the 35/55. You will need the weaker spine to get around the riser - longbows are typically not cut to center. If you bow is a recurve you may get by with the 55/75. If you add weight up front. The gold tips a nice because you can get the weights that screw into the back of the insert. It will give you the flexibility to increase your total arrow weight and get the spine right. PM me if you have any more specific questions.... What size broadheads?..Try to get one of each and paper tune..Either way I feel 55/75.

go with 35/55 I shoot 48# at 28 inches and the 35/55s were still stiff. had to add 100 grain inserts up front and keep them the full 30 inches to bareshaft decent.

Gator, I played the same game last year with a 55# Blackwidow recurve. I ended up with the 55/75 but it is boarderline. Suggestion, Blackwidow and I think Three Rivers offer to sell individual shafts. You may want to purchase a 35/55 and a 55/75 and bare shaft them to select the right one.

Don't be in a hurry to cut the shaft to length. Start out long and combine cutting the shaft and playing with the weights. It can be frustrating but well worth the effort as they are one fine shaft. Blackwidow has a helpful gold tip tuning guide.

beeman mfx wood grain 500 spine, you will be happier, been a goldtip man but lately not liking the quality or issues, the beeman mfx have the hit system, are straight and look better:-)

Both will be overspined,. The 3555 is definitely the right choice. You will still likely have to add weight to the tip (such as weighted brass inserts). I shoot a marriah thermal, hoyt gamemaster and habu all around 48-51 pounds at 29 inches with 160 grain broadheads and the 3555's still need at least a 50 grain brass inserts to get them to fly right.

I shoot 53#@30, black widow recurve, 64"...35/55 GT Traditional XT's, 30" long, plus the aluminum nock "reciever" out back, regular goldtip insert and 125 gr tip/broadhead, out front...bareshafted straight, with 3-4" shield shaped turkey fletch, fly even straighter!!!
