Big Horn Bow Finish

I have a Big Horn long bow that Ron made last year. The finish is very thin and I want to add to it.
Can any finish be put over what is there or do I need to use the same finish?
Does anyone know what type of finish that he used?

I have found that polyurethene will go over any bow I've had.I use it for light touch ups and have sprayed over whole bow.I would scuff the bow with 0000 steel wool and wipe it down with alcohol and the spray it with polyurethene.I find the satin poly works great. After it dries for three days I'll steel wool it and then polish the bow with polish.
