Well, I had mucho yard work this morning, and family time this evening.  Did not have time to shoot a single arrow today, and I was pushing just to run outside and snap a few pics.  Being gone all week, things just kinda piled up on me.  Sorry for the photography...really rushed.

Hope to be able to spend some quality bow time after work tomorrow.  Will post some shooting impressions then.  The grip is a little big for my hand, but I think I can work into it.  If not, I already talked to Tim about the possiblity of taking some off.  We'll see...  I probably should have asked for a "low" grip instead of "medium".

Sweet again.

Take the leather off and see if it works a little better for you size wise.

I might do that, David.  I don't think it'll make a huge difference, but it's something to try before having Tim do any more carving on it.  I know it'd be prettier without the leather anyway, but I like the feel with it on there.

I'd also considered some "aftermarket" checkering.  We'll see.  I may grow into the grip as is.

I love Tim's bows. I just couldn't get used to the big grip. Even after sending it back for reshaping, it was still too deep front to back to fit my hand. I would love to get one that fits someday...

Your's is drop dead gorgeous.!

Finally got to spend some time with my new Tree Stick tonight.  My good friend Marty came over and we shot for a couple hours.  I'm glad to report the bow shoots as good as it looks!

The grip still feels a little big, but it is certainly not a show-stopper.  I was shooting pretty dang good groups at 15 to 20 yards, and slapping arrows together on a fairly regular basis.

The real good news is that the bow is very spine tolerant.  I shot a variety of arrows and never had a fletched shaft I couldn't get good flight with.  Tim's bows are cut 3/16" past center at the shelf, and it makes a huge difference in tuning compared to what I'm used to.

I shot a bare shaft 2016 cut to 29" with a 125g point, a 30" 2018 with a 150g point, and a CX 150, 29.5" with 200g up front.  They were all flying good, and at one point, I decided to see what kind of group I could get with the three different arrows.  The result was 3 bare shafts in a 4" group, right in the middle of the target, from about 22 yards.  Doesn't get much better than that with my release!

I don't own a chronograph, so I can't give a definitive speed analysis, but to my eye, the arrows seemed to be flying about the same as from my Griffin, or Marty's Pronghorn.  Not blistering speed, but certainly respectable!

The bow is fairly quiet for a r/d limb design.  It came with one string set up with yarn puffs, and the only thing I can hear while shooting is a little string vibration.  I got a spare string, and I think I'll set it up wiht rubber cat whiskers.  It's pretty subjective I suppose, but cat whiskers seem to silence a string better than anything else I've tried.  I stood a few feet off to the side and in front while Marty shot it, and all I could hear was the string cutting the air.

Overall, I'm very pleased.  Thanks for all the compliments!!!  Shoot straight and stay safe!

Curtis,

Can't wait to see it in person. Looks like it was well worth the wait. The limb veneers turned out great.

Are you still planning on attending the longbow class at the end of the week? If so, see ya then.

Jeff

Wouldn't miss it, Jeff.  Gotta have a good 'ole hickory self-bow to go with my new, fancy-smancy one...
