Aaaaagh! Clicker string driving me crazy!
« on: September 29, 2008, 02:43:00 AM »
Hi all,

Installed a Crick-It and Its been great to see my consistency improve and the groups shrink, but the clicker cord keeps getting tangled on the string after each shot. Its a pain unravelling it and Im worried it might get hung up when im out hunting.

I tried waxing the cord to make it stiffer but now all it does is still get tangled and stick like glue to the string.

Anyone have any tips to stop this happening?

Thanks!

Matabele, I use 30 or 40 pound salt water fishing line and have never had it tangle around the bow string, it's stiff yet flexes.

Very similar set up to the King but I use the heavy muzzy bowfishing line and no tangles either

I am using 90# Big Game line--no stretch.  I also moved mine up on the limb, contrary to the instructions, to avoid the excess line necessary to put it near the fadeouts.

like Steve, i have mine up the limb so that the string is shorter i install it just like John and use nock loop string that they put on compounds for the release aid to clip on, never had it tangle once.

Near the top of the limb for me also. I don't need any extra string to help me get tangled!

Guys, I've heard of folks using a small piece of surgical hose or a similar material as a casing for the clicker string. Just thread it through the hose and attach it as usual. My son recently went to a Crikit clicker and will be going to the woods for the first time using it this weekend. I have a feeling I'll be addressing this problem or one of tangling in brush when he gets back.                            Grant
