How long/many miles to break in these boots and also does anyone here wear them in the elk hills mountains? I bought them primarily for whitetail hunting the mid west to replace all of my failed burlys. Thanks for any and all

I too hunt whitetails in the mid-west. I have had them for 2 seasons and I am very pleased how they have performed. Haven't been out west with them-Yet!  They will accompany me on my elk trip in 2010. I have the 13" Hunter II series.
