Good morning in the woods
« on: October 25, 2008, 12:46:00 PM »
Being the first chance to get in the woods this season thought I would see if I could have my chance at a turkey or deer.I knew were some Gobblers had been roosting, but no luck there for they have moved on to another wood lot. After not seeing nothing but squirrels decided to move arcoss the road behind my fathers house. As I drove up to the gate a yearling deer come running by,not wanting to shoot it as it and it sibbling play in my dads backyard. As I was opening the gate noticed the other one flicker it tail. When I got the gate open it started kicking and balling, that's when I noticed it was hung in the fence.I drove on down the hill to were the deer was I could see it's head was hung bewteen the post and wire.I got the kleins out of the tool box, it really got exceded when I appoached it.I started talking to it hoping it would settle it down as I start to cut it loose. It was a button buck his little horn had it trapped so that he couldn't pull his head back out.Hurt none for the worst he was gone like a rabbit when I freed him.Being new to traditional acrhery and even if I don't get to loose an arrow at something this season I feel like it's already been a sucessful one to me that I will remember always.

thats a memorie that will stick with you longer than a kill my friend. and thats also much more of a successful morning than a morning you downed a deer. good job bro, and good hunting.
