60/120 four fletch

Anyone use this type four fletch? Saw it on Kelly tips@ Foxfire Archery.

I've been using it for a few years.  The only difference I see between it and any other config is I needed to drop my nock point some since there's no feather contact on the shelf (same as shooting cock feather in).  I can chop 2 fletches out of a full length feather too.

Thinking about trying it with 3" Duravanes

I use it and feel I get better flight with it then the other 4 fletch configurations.

I use it on some. My grandkids think I was drunk when I fletched those shafts.

I tried it this summer to get less feather than my usual 3x5".  Fletched up some arrows with 3" feathers at 60x120.  Found that with my A/C/C's and my other skinny carbon shafts that the fletch was too close together for my liking.  Should be better on wood or other fatter shafts.  Ended up just putting time into tuning and now can shoot 3x3"@120.  Noticably faster and quieter than 3x5".  Properly tuned and clearance won't be a problem.  My nock point is 3/16".

Been using it for years!  Mainly its different, was why I started.  Get quicker stability, and good filght.  Plus never have to worry where the cock feather needs to be!

Thanks I'm not sure what Kelly is talking about right and left handed shooters.Fletched one up on a left hand Blizt,will shoot it this pm.

He's not talking about if you're using left or RH feathers, but if you shoot left or right handed.  If you're a southpaw you need to switch the position of the 2 hen feathers or they'll be hitting the shelf just like with a standard fletch.

I made up some to shoot,they flew great and seemed to straighten up quick.The only 4 fletch I prefer to shoot.

Thanks Jeremy but I'm not sure of the hen and cock feather in a 4 flecth. I can see in the picture which way to place the feathers in order to clear the shelf. Looks like to me you could just rotate the nock for a southpaw.

I did some 4 fletch (60/120) with my JoJan and  carbons, and they ahot great.

I like them better then the regular 4 fletch that JoJan has.

I am pretty sure Kelly got that style from Roger Rothaar.  He usually knows what he is talking about...

Roger Rothhaar fleches his arrows this way.  It is impossible to argue with his success.

I started using this method two years ago. Biggest difference I noticed is not having to worry about which way to nock and arrow. In fact this comes in handy when taking the Scouts out to a shoot. I don't have to remind them to watch the hen feather. I use 4 4" feathers on all my arrows.
