They're fantastic bows! I don't own a Silvertip longbow, but I do own a Windauer Wolverine longbow, which is like the little, stronger brother of the Silvertip longbow! Dave is IMO one of the best bowyers out there. He really does some awesome work, and you won't be disappointed! I have shot Silvertip longbows and they are great! They're not the fastest bows around, but they are very smooth and nice to shoot. I would highly recommend them!
Hope this has helped! Good luck with your decision!  ;)

The 3 piece longbow is a great bow.Shoots where you look, quiet,no hand shock, pound for pound with other longbows it is fast.Same quality and workmanship as his recurves.I sold all my one piece longbows when I got mine,The only longbow I like as much is my A&H ACS CX.You wont be disapointed if you order one,I ordered one for my son over the summer.Good luck.

it is definitely a world class bow that is in the shadow of the recurve that Silvertip makes.  Smooth pull and perfect reflex deflex geometry in my opinon.
Silence over speed.  Heavier arrows never hurt.

Very, very nice bow. I have one on order that should be done about April. Call Beth and see if the have  a loaner to send you. I was there last month and Dave was a little low on bows, but he may be able to get a demo bow out to you to try for a while. You won't be dissapointed. Lot's of options and first class workmanship. Besides that, you won't find better people to work with.
