Bob Lee Hunter
« on: October 30, 2008, 04:16:00 AM »
Hi all,
I'm interested in a Bob Lee hunter take down recurve 60# LH. Its a good deal and in my country so no shipping dramas.
I've got some questions.
it's 60" and I draw 29.5 but on their site it recommends that for a draw higher than 29" a 64" bow is the go. Any thoughts? Will it damage the bow or will it just stack at that length?
Second, I'm not sure yet whether it was tillered for 3 under or split shooting. What if I use 3 under on a split-tillered bow?
Thanks all,
Tom.

Using three-under on a split-finger bow will be just fine. You'll probably have to raise your nock point a little. I've killed quite a few animals quite dead shooting my bows, that were tillered for split-finger, three-under.

I've got a set of 60" Lee recurve limbs and they do not stack at my 29" draw.  I would rather shoot the 62" or 64" limbs though...don't think they are any smoother at my draw but I do like the feel of a longer bow.

Thanks Ben, I s'pose that'll make itself known during the tuning process.
I got an email from Bob Lee saying some dude called 'Rob' uses a 60" bow at 29 1/2" with no problems.
And I've already convinced the misses that I need to dip into our savings...

Kip should know, he's got one with deer prints on the limbs, it used to be mine, and you'll shoot just fine on that bow. mine was a 56", and bob is the one to talk to, you'll do just fine with that bow.

Carl I got 3-risers and bunch of limbs now. I put some 60" longbow limbs at 49@28" on that short riser you sold me which made it about 54@28" nice little short bow.I tried some 62" 52lbs also but some reason lots of kickback or handshock. That little 56" longbow is sweet at my almost 29" draw.Kip
