I'd recommend south like the Martin State forest.  Lot's o' birds and plenty of public land.  Season's 4/22 - 5/10.
Take a kid hunting!

About the only time I could go is the day before mother's day, 5-9.

I like turkeys!

I would be available to chase turkeys any weekend!

I have never hunted them on public land but have chased them quite a bit on private land! On private land I actually like the last part of the season it seems the toms commit easyier then.

Been off line for a bit.

I'm the Bob(?).

If I'm still in the area I'll be back next year. Maybe talk my wife into joining.  She doesn't shoot but makes a mean pot of stew.

I'll keep a look out for the post on the turkey shoot and try to make it.
