Woodsmans vs. Snuffers, any thoughts?
« on: November 09, 2008, 07:13:00 PM »
I love the way my WW's fly, but am thinking I would like a bigger hole. I have not shot snuffers yet. Can anyone tell me how they fly next to WW's?

I have used both and never had a problem getting either to fly great. Depending on your bow weight you will probably get better penetration with the WW's.
Someday you'll regret the things you didn't do.

When I shot snuffers they flew fine no issues there, but I get woodsmans ALOT sharper with much less trouble and better penetration.  Reason I went to woodsmans was over penetration issues.  Won't go back. dino

Those WW's sure make a nice hole for me, and the penetration is outstanding.

I'm somewhat of a penetration freak so I tend to shoot Woodsmans much more than Snuffers.  Both are certainly excellent heads for deer.

I believe you'll find they both shoot very well from a tuned bow.  The Woodsman tends to be more forgiving of a poor release or windy conditions in my experience.

Unless you shoot the 160gn snuffer you will not see any difference in hole size between the 125gn heads. The woodsman works just fine and will out penitrate the big snuffer.
....Quality deer management means shooting them before they get tough....

Both great heads.....both fly well and sharpen great.

I weigh mine up the same and will often carry both in my quiver on certain hunts.

Woodsman....smaller,penetrates awesome, if I had to pick one BH to shoot it would be the WW...

160 Snuffer...bigger,doesn't penetrate as well, but is just wicked....when I'm hunting turkeys and deer size critters, this is whats in my quiver!

Both are really great heads and I respect the people that designed them.I have done well with both but I have to admit I am a little more confident with the ole big 160 grain snuffer at the end of my arrow.
