It's not the gun hunters that are the problem. It's the dumbbutts that ONLY get out this one week and have no sense about them. I've heard fusillades of shots an hour before legal light and I've had shotgun slugs zip past me.
These guys are NOT hunters.
That being said, if I go out that week, it will be with my longbow and it will be to the deepest cover I know.

I have to second the no decoy for safety and I have had decoys spook alot of deer in thick stuff where the deer did not see it till he was within 30 yards of it. If you live in Missouri you know the trespassers are terrible and the road hunting is already bad this year and the season is not even open yet. you are required to wear a certain amount of orange in Mo. and a hat ain't good enough.

Too many fools out there in my part of Missouri. A neighbor of ours lost a heifer three years back to a moron taking sound shots.
I stay home and catch up on the honeydo list. Plenty of time to dig through the thick stuff once the battle of the bulge is over.

A person must wear orange during the gun season, there is no deer worth the risk, not one!
