Racoon cure / repellent
« on: November 13, 2008, 01:23:00 PM »
My neighbor is having his lawn chewed up by a family of raccoons. His lawn is the only on being torn up. He has seen a mother and baby on several occasions visit the lawn digging for worms or some type of grub. Do any of you have any ideas other the dispatching them on keeping them away? Local animal control will not trap them. The lawn looks like hogs have been rooting. I would offer to test a Magnus but we live in the city and it's just not a good idea. Any ideas?

Fox urine will repel them to some extent. I'm not sure what you would do with a yard.

I've used a spray that repels gophers and moles that contains castor oil. It seems to work. It might be worth $10 to spray it on the lawn and see.

Otherwise your neighbor needs to get one of these:

Eliminate the grubs. There are pesticides on the market just for that.   Pat
