I am back other than the bow accident all went good. We took 1 buck, my uncle got a 140" 3yr old 9pt on public land with his wheelie bow. My friends dad shot a 127" 4yr old 6pt on public land also. I do not know how many bucks we saw total. I personally saw 44 different bucks in 9 days. I passed on numerous young bucks in side 25 yds. A few of those were Pope and Young 2yr olds including a beautiful 130" 10 pt who will look awesome if he makes it another year and 9 different 8-10 pts in the 115" to 125" range I wanted a big mature buck. I had a few close calls, like the 5yr old 8pt at noon who would have grossed close to 150" if not for a broken left G3 who was under 20yds for 10 minutes and would not give me a open broadside shot so I let him leave, and the 165" 12pt stud with a hot doe who came by twice at 22 yds with no shot cause of the rose bushes, another 145" 10 pt that would only skirt my comfort zone after I rattled him in and then only to give me a quartering to me shot at 18yds before leaving. The last evening I saw a true monster at 4pm. Hecame out of a clear cut trailing a hot doe, I gave him every trick and call I had, but could not pull him or the doe closer than 50yds. With a 300lb. plus body and 180-185" of perfect 10pt rack on top he was in peak condition and I figured him to be 6 or 7yrs old he was awesome. After he went on and it got dark I climbed down to head for home thanking god for being able to see such a awesome animal, and having a fun and safe trip with my uncle and dad. I will be back in 50 weeks to do it all over again. I will add that we hunted public land and private land, both were equally as good. Chris
