Elk Drop Camp
« on: November 17, 2008, 08:21:00 PM »
Me and three friends are thinking about planning a 2009 elk hunt. Leaning toward hiring a outfitter pack us in and out and have camp set up for us so we can make the most of our limited time. Most likely in Colorado but we are up for suggestions. Do any other states do OTC archery tags? Has anyone done a "drop camp"? If so tell me about your experience. I know that elk are tuff critters to hunt and we will be lucky if one of us even get one close but it will be fun just to give it a shot. PM me if you have a good refernce for a outfitter or just some one that will pack us in and out and help get the elk out if we get lucky.

Thanks
Bryant

Give Backcountry Outfitters a call in Colorado they took care of our group for 5 seasons in a drop camp. Good honest family business. Dave and Nancy will take good care of you. If you go to Davis Creek let me know I can provide some tips about the area. Unit 77 OTC cow or four point bull. Albert

I'll second Backcountry outfitters. They set me up great on a drop camp 2 years ago in the area they call ford springs.
