You could build you one. See the instruction here:  http://www.stickbow.com/FEATURES/ARROWMAKING/cresting.cfm

I built one like this, but it cost more than $18. I think it was more like $27.

I use model brushes from Wal-Mart and Paints from the local Hobby store.

Have a great day!

The best paint for all types of arrows  is paint fom Whispering Wind Arrows it is tough and water clean up.  I would stay away from the Bohning kit, the paint is very toxic and not very user friendly.  The Bohning crester does work very well.

You can look for a used crester on the auction site.  Whether or not you can get a deal is debatable.

If you go with Bohning use only in a vetilated area they are toxic. use an oil stain on the shaft and cap dip and crest with acrylic latex from Wallmart. Check with Bob Burton for a good crester...PR

Here are a couple of other ideas for masking your own. I still use the one I made shown at the bottom of the page. Albert

I have two crestors...I would sell you a Junior Crestor for $50...? They sell for $98 new at 3Rivers. Works good. If you don't want to try making one this would be another option for you.

whispering winds crester is the best you can buy,,, esp for wooden arrow shafts.

Do a search here on powwow... Alot of people on here use a type of "hobby" paint that of course I can't remember the name of...

Buy  good quality brushes,, most important is to get them perfectly clean after use.
