I would recommend getting a Mac-Daddy or similar call and practice making cow/calf sounds. When you are in the woods still hunting find a good spot to shoot from where you are concealed with some good shooting lanes and SOFTLY call a few times, be very careful if you decide to change location, they will often walk in on you silently. Usually you will hear them coming though. It sounds exactly like a 600+LB animal breaking branches. After calling a couple times wait at least 5 min. and try again. It works during late season here in Washington.
(sometimes) If you get no response after about half an hour start still hunting again and just call every once in a while. If you jump a herd IMMEDIATELY blow on call, sometimes they will stop and settle down. Practice this throughout the day and you should get a shot.
Good Luck, and congratulations!! We want pictures!!
