Shielded or Parabolic?

Parabolics or small,low bananas for me.Quieter and hold up better in tube type quivers.I do use sheilds on some of my wooden 3d arrows but seldom have any on hunting arrows other than arrows that have been around awhile.

I think sheilds are noisier than parabolics. For me Banana cut are the quitest. m2c

I usually use parabolic for 3D shoots, practice and I make my own feathers from turkeys I have shot for my hunting arrows.  I burn them in the shield cut shape.  They fly just fine for me.  I can't tell any difference in either, just like the looks of the shield cut.  I use 2 natural feathers for the hen feathers and a red died cock feather.  Pretty traditional look.

Started with Paras and moved recently to Shields. They look cool!

I use primarily banana fletchings.  Super quiet and to me they look really traditional.  I also like the old Pope & Young fletchings, but they whistle a little much like shields.

The only time arrow noise makes a difference is when the arrow misses the animal and passes by it.  Of course, it doesn't really matter then.  Animals react to the sound of the bow.  Arrow noise is secondary.  By the time they hear it, it's usually too late.  I've shot shields mostly and some parabolics for more than 40 years and can't tell the difference in noise level from behind the bow.  I like the looks of shields so that's what I shoot most.  Parabolics are a little more aerodynamic, but few people shoot well enough to notice the difference.

I love banana fletchings as well, wish all my arrows had them! They look so cool and they are beefy enough to straighten out the arrow real quick. Never had issues with noise on any offering.

Seriously, I use Shields,Parabolics,and Nanners....
    Too, bad we can't use Owl Feathers, how quite would they be....

I started shooting shields, then moved to bananas and I now shoot 4 x 4" parabolics. I've gone for the parabolics because they're probably the most popular and easiest to get a hold of, as well as being very stable and quiet!

I like the sheilds and parabolics. Don't like the looks of the banana cut. Just don't look normal to me.
