Kodiak Magnum ?
« on: November 24, 2008, 09:16:00 AM »
He all,

I just picked up a new to me Magnum, think it was made in '71-72, and I need some help with the specs.
It's 45@28, and I am trying to find out what the brace height should be for it.

Also wondering about arrow choices, I draw between 29-29.5. I would really like to load up the front, either 345, 360, or 390.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Keith,

I bought a Kodiak Magnum new about 1972 (50# @ 28").  It was the only bow I used to hunt with until a couple of years ago when it got damaged in a moving truck.  Over the years I bought a dozen fiberglass arrows (tough!!) and a dozen aluminum arrows (nice!!), but by far my most used arrow was a four fletch woodie with a 160 grain Snuffer broad head.  By the way, I draw 29 inches, too.

Good luck, and enjoy your great bow!!

I'd start at 8" with it, depending on your set up you may end up 8 1/2" plus.

Ok, got the brace height down, now I just need to figure out which arrows will be right for this set up.

Keith361, I'm shooting 2016's with 125 gr up front. They seem to fly good for me. I'm thinking about going to a 145 or 165 gr head though, just to see how it works. You may want to try 1916's as well.
