I just ordered a Maddog kid's longbow for a family with 4 little kids ages 3 to 9. The three oldest are boys and the youngest is a girl. The kids got a cheap plastic bow that I shot with them when I was in Georgia last month after bowhunting with Joe Coots and Bob Morrison. The three boys would shoot the bow every morning before school if they had the chance. I wanted to get them something that would keep them interested and give them an idea of what a "real" bow was like, not that plastic thing with a nylon cord attached. The Maddog Pup would be great for the younger kids, but the 8 and 9 year old boys are too big for it, so Mike suggested I go with the longbow. I ordered it with 10 arrows and Mike suggested the no glove cushions. The bow with the 10 arrows and shipping is a bargain at only $122. It will probably be a late Christmas present. None of us minds getting something after Christmas, and I am sure the kids will love it. Mike is doing young archers a huge service by providing such great products at ridiculously low prices that all of us can afford. Bringing kids into the sport is what we all need to do to keep trad archery alive and well. Thanks Mike! Also a big thanks to David Knipes for all he does to help young archers and their families.
