upgrade limbtips?

What, if anything, do you need to do to make an older longbow FF compatible?  Bad idea?

Most older longbows can handle fastflite without any modifications.  Might want to pad the string loops though if the bow doesn't have limb tip overlays or if they're very small.

How do you pad them? Can you put an overlay on an old bow with those very petite tips? Will it change the way the bow shoots?
