actionboo v/s action wood cores??
« on: December 01, 2008, 08:46:00 PM »
Just wondering if there is any negative to having actionboo limb cores instead of action wood? I've always understood the 'boo was preferred, but is there a real differencein performance?

Just spoke to Mr. Herb Meland from Pronghorn tonight about that very thing.  I gathered from what he said that the actionboo added some performance and smoothness to the limbs. I was concerned about the boos durability, but he said he has never had a boo limb fail that he can remember. He's making my limbs from an actionboo core and veneers of grey stained tonkin bamboo.
God is good, all the time!!!

The way I understand it actionwood used to be made from maple but is now made out of less desireable birch.
Actionboo is a good product that is in thousands of bows and has a good reputation.  Chad
