well folks here i am. names colby. been hunting since i was 7. from OK and am thinking seriously about picking up the trad bow for my bowhunting. this seems to be the place to be to learn

Best thing to do is just jump.
You'll piece it together as you go and a background in compounds will make things much easier.

thanx guys. iv played with trad equipment in the past, was even shown how to make a self bow years ago. id like to relearn how to do that, as i was maybe 10 when i was shown. iv been using a wheel bow for the last couple years, and plan to continue with it for a while, but iv always just enjoyed shooting trad so much more

Everything you need is right here. I find it hard to believe that there are over eighteen thousand members (and nearly as many minds!) here onsite, which makes this a treasure trove of information. Be sure to check out all the forums, including the Bowyer's Bench. Use the search engine, too. A lot of your questions have likely been asked before.
