Inserts or Points for 1616 Easton Jazz
« on: December 10, 2008, 10:21:00 AM »
I bought a couple dozen of these arrows for my wife.  They should work great but I am having a hard time locating inserts or figuring out how to attach points to them.  Any insight from people that have delt with this issue before would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks and have a good one.

There are no inserts for 1616s just glue in nibb points.  I think they weight 53 grains but I think you can add weight somehow bc there is a threaded hole in the point. I think the company is pdp.

I found for my girlfriend who will only be 3D shooting and target shooting I got some 125g tips ruffed em up and glued them right into the shaft they fit just perfect.  I tested them out and shot em out of my 50# widow into every target I had (3 3D deer, 2 excelsior bales, 2 blocks, and a bag target) multiple times and it held like a charm!

Thanks!  For the 125 grain points did you just buy the 1/4" glue ons?  I was thinking about that because the 1616 outer diameter is 1/4".  I will give this a try and see how it goes.  Thanks again!

I shoot 1616's.   I get 53gr. nib points from Dave at Archery Past.  He stocks nibs for 1416 on up.   I also get little 10 gr. screw on weight additions, of which I add one, for a total of 63 gr.   My draw is 25" or a bit less, and my arrows are 27".  This works well for me on a variety of bows in the roughly 35# class.

Thanks Dick.  My wife is shooting a 28#@24" Shrew that I had custom made for her.  24" is her draw length and I have her arrows cut to 26" long.
