Thanks everyone.
The little guy in the second photo is my ten yr old Nick. He got his first archery deer during our youth hunt back in September, with a compound bow.
Next year he should have a long enough draw to use a traditional bow. He is just a little guy, but he can shoot.
Thanks again.

Hey Bonebuster,
Save some deer for me!
I may actually get up there again some day.
I cut my bow huntin' teeth in the the woods between Hale and Sand Lake. Some cool places in all that National Forest.
For now I have to be content with the deer behind the house here in the flatlands.
You and your son keep knockin' em down! Good Job.

Hey Mick, my first EVER bowhunt happened between Hale and Sand Lake as well.
Those woods are largely unchanged. Fewer deer than you would remember, but still decent hunting.
Most of my hunting out there now is for Coyotes.
I live less than five minutes from the start of those woods. They give us blueberries, firewood, a couple coyote pelts each winter, occaisionally a deer,, and a place for me and my wife to walk and hold hands on cool summer evenings.
Awesome to hear from you.
