arrows to long?

trying to tune my bobby lofton 50 lb.not cut to center longbow.had some easton 400s laying around so i figuered what the hay.shot with several weights,150 up front full length shaft shooting like darts.only problems i have like 4 to 5 inches hanging over any suggestions??????

If they are flying good and hitting where you are looking leave them alone. Having a longer tuned arrow is better than the frustration of having a short untuned one.

But if you really want to cut them down and start retuning them again get some heavier field points or brass inserts. By cutting them you are going to stiffen the spine requiring more weight up front to weaken them.

I would cut them to length, so my draw was consistent.
    I draw 29" so I cut my Arrows to 29" with your 50# longbow I would say you will need a 100 Grain Brass insert and 125 grain tip, this should put you in the ball park....

could i go to a 500 and cut it shorter.with a lighter tip?

That is the way carbon arrows can be,they do not come in as many different spines as wood or aluminum.your shooting a 50# longbow,I would try a 500 spine carbon and tune them from there.

Add some more weight to the tip.
