AD Arrows - Nock ?
« on: December 20, 2008, 11:08:00 AM »
I am converting my standard AD nocks over to the A/C/C "G" Nocks and was wondeing what size G-nocks you guys use? there are 2 differnt sizes listed. I'm assuming the larger of the two,but i'm not sure. Any help out here? They say it depends onthe string you use. I shoot a widow witha  standard widow string.

I would go with the large. That is what I am using with my Morrison 8125 strings. But to be honest I like using the Grizzly Stik nock adaptors and 9/32 nocks. ABS was not carrying them at the time I bought new shafts and that is why I ended up with the A/C/C and G nocks.

Chris,
Thanks for the quick response.Do you have any info on where i can purchase those style of nocks? I dont care what i shoot, i just dont like the original nocks. i just tried the A/C/C style and they work but fit loose" int he back of the arrow. I used epoxy so i think it made up the gap.

Check Alaska Bowhunting Supply. Go to the GrizzlyStik accessories and then components. They are in stock now.

They have a slight snap but it is easy to file down if you desire. I personally like them the way they are.

They have to be glued. I shoot 4 fletch and have never had an issue with them.

I use the large groove G-nocks .098 for my AD's,they fit great on 12 strand D97 with .024 Halo serving just great. You can use the standard nock adapters and cut them off at the groove closest to the shaft and the G-nocks fit right in.Or you can use ACC 3-28 nock bushings and the G-nocks will work.I've done it both ways,I cut off the nock adapters for my Trad Lite's and used the ACC 3-28 bushings for my Trad heavies.

Check with Ted Fry at Raptor Archery. he has the glue in adaptors for the AD shafts to use Bohning classics in 9/32.

I get my adapters from Ted at raptor and use the Mercury speed nocks from The Footed Shaft. They are glue ons and they are a tapered nock. Doesn't matter the size of the string, they fit them all.
