Arrow wrap width?
« on: December 21, 2008, 03:34:00 PM »
I'm trying to order some wraps from Onestringer, but have no idea what width I need for a POC 11/32 shaft.  Anyone know?

I believe it comes in one-inch and 1 1/4-inch widths.  You'll need the 1 1/4.  1 1/8 might make it, but might not.  Better to have a little too much than not enough.  Wood shafts will vary a little in diameter/circumference.

For anyone else that reads this and wonders, the 1.05" Onestringer wraps work good on 5/16" diameter arrows.  (2016, Carbon Express Heritage, etc.)  They actually have several different widths available, so it can get a little confusing if you haven't ordered for a particular size before.

If you have any questions, Scott and Mindy are very helpful.  Give them a call or send email.

Mine for my 11/32 woods were 1.125. My FMJ's were .95... All you have to do is tell them what they are for and they will tell you what size you need.

I would get 1&1/4" wide for 11/32" shafts.Onestringer has available in many width's and length. Most of your standard wraps come in 1" and 1&1/4" wide and 4" and 7" long.most of the time I get 1&1/4" wide and I'll trim them down to 1" for Axis/MFX shafts.

This is what I did when I placed my orders.  However, I think that they should be a conversion chart on their website, unless they don't mind answering all the e-mails about wrap sizes.

You will need  1 1/4.  It will give you about an 1/8th of overlap.

Shaft diameter x 3.14

5/16” x 3.14 = .982

Don't mind the emails, Gatekeeper has the formula correct.

11/32 shaft has a diameter of 1.079 so a 1 1/8 or 1.125" wide will work fine, a 1 1/4 or 1.25" will work too.  We have all the different sizes because many compound shooters don't want to add the weight.  That extra grain might slow down their bows.  :biglaugh:

I never thought of putting a calculator on the website, but its an excellent idea.
