Bow Strings

I have been shooting a Bear Kodiak Magnum for a year and a half with the same string, I keep it waxed and it appears to be in perfect condition. I took it completely off the other day and compared it to a new one I had, it appears to be 1 1/2 inches longer than the new one. Granted the new one has not been used and there fore not streched. The bow is still shooting good, I've taken several whitetails with it so far this season. What is the life expectancy of a string and how do you tell when it is time to replace it.

Where & tear, will tell you, if it looks new it's fine, if it looks old it is.
I put old strings in my pack as a back up string, I know it's already stretched and was shooting fine.
do you know what your brace height is?
you can twist or un-twist the string to fit your bow
