Cabelas Wooltimate clothing

Does anyone have experience with this clothing? and if so what pattern do ya got.

I'm in the same boat.  I'd like to have a wooltimate windshear henley and matching pants, but if I'm gonna plunk down that kind of money for a top/bottom combo I think I may wait for a pilgrimage to Cabelas so I can physically handle the stuff.

Hi I've got both the pants and coat and I like them very much. I've also got a pair KOM pants.  I think the woolmate are warmer and lighter too.

I have KOM, SI, Hidden Wolf, Filson & Cabela's Wooltimate and Berber fleece with windshear.

Wooltimate isn't as thick or durable as the premium wool made by KOM, SI, Hidden Wolf or Filson but it's not nearly as expensive either. It'll keep you warm and is one of the best buys in wool clothing.

I have the pants. Very quiet and warm. I would not say they are windprooof. I have some Dayone fleece that is much better at stopping the wind.
Also the wooltimate pants have small belt loops. I use a 2" belt and it is a struggle to thread it through.
I got my wooltimate's Feb. '08, wore them this fall season, and the windshear liner is already ripped and separated in the crotch. I have probably worn them axp. 15 times.
Overall I think they are good pants, however I am sending them back to Cabelas for a refund. I don't think I will buy another pair.

For warm and tough fleece, look at the Natural Gear Winterceptor stuff. Excellent, a 10 in my book.

Be wary of the windshear liners. I cut the lining out of my pants due to the swishing noise. Would have returned them; but we were already hunting-the pants still work great. I got the predator pattern.

I've been using the wooltimate w/windshear for a few years.It's warm and is holding up well, did have to buy a narrower belt.

Does any one dare washing this stuff in the washer? I would not see why their wool can withstand the agitation of a washer when all the premium manufacturers don't recomend it?

I have both. The wooltimate is not available in Predator camo, so I suspect you have the fleece or something else Bjorn. It comes in outfitter high plains (grey, brown and tan) and outfitter camo (grey and green). I have the high plains and deer look right through me.

The noisy liner is the windstop. Windshear, as in the Wooltimate stuff, is very quiet and stops the wind extremely well. Believe me, we have wind in Iowa! It is very warm and light weight. The reason it stands up to the washer is because it's only 23 percent wool.

The only downside to it is it picks up burrs like no other. I may get some unlined saddle cloth to wear over the top, but wooltimate will be underneath. I like being warm without excessive weight. In addition to wind, we have a tremendous supply of burrs in Iowa.

Yes it does pick up burrs(helps you to blend in),but they do remove pretty easy.Coupe I've got a pants & jacket made with saddle cloth and it will shed burrs,but it gets stiff & noisy when cold.

I've got the vest and wear it almost daily, also love the position and size of the pockets- easly holds tree steps and my 2xx gloves.The last cold weather gear I would get rid of!!

I have the jacket and absolutely love it.  I have washed it many times and it holds up very well.  The burs do cling to it but not nearly as bad as they do to my two springers ears.

It is about the warmest jacket I have ever owned.  The only one I have warmer has about 9 inches of down from the old Willis and Gieger.

I love the pockets as 52bow said but for different reasons.  They are just right for carrying your bow under your arm with your hands still in your pockets.

It has a nice high collar too that you can zip up to help keep the wind off of your neck and face.

My only dislike is I wish it had pit zips so you could regulate better because you do get warm in it.

Have the pants and Henley. Added side leg zipps to the pants so I could carry them in and pull them over my boots. I wear suspenders on them. The top pulls over Underarmour type stuff very well, but struggles on Ulfrotte so that you have to spend a little time readjusting things. I would like a hood(not to always wear but to pull up and warm up once and a while)and an integral dickie, like the ones on the fleece that Brunner used to sell, still on of the best little features for keeping a guy warm, I've never seen it on another jacket and I wonder why. In all for the money I like my wooltimate suit.

Leland, my cousin has a saddle cloth coat and bibs and they are very quiet. They are probably 10 years old and still look great. If it's cold enough to make that stuff stiff, I'll hopefully already have my tag filled!

There are a couple things I wish the wooltimate stuff had: leg zippers (without having to add them) and bibs would be nice. I too wear suspenders. The lining is pretty slick, so they like to slide down with just a belt, especially when layered.

I have the pants,jacket and vest and I really like them.They are very warm "that's coming from a guy that's cold natured" I did rip the liner in the croth of the pant's but sowed it right up. I don't have a problem with any of it.If they ever make bib's I'll buy a pair! very warm, good stuff!! Jason

I have the outfitters paints vest and parka I like them. does make a noise when you are walking but I dont pay any attention to it now very warm gear.
