Yup.
Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

You did just fine.... Great bow and the first year they were built.  Yours is 58" and rare  as everything since then in the Kodiak Hunters is 60"
Good Job  :clapper:    :clapper:

If I take the arrow rest off and put some hair on there will that hurt the value of the bow?

If your talking about a raised rest attached to the side of the sight window it was not factory.  The bow came with a "Bear Hair" rest and leather side plate [not real bear hair but a short nap rest.  Velcro [soft side] works very well.

Leave a small space about 1/8 inch between the rest and the leather you use on the side of the site window to help in feather clearance. You might also want to place something short [ the width of the rest material]and small i diameter like a tooth pick or match stick under the rest between it and the shelf right above where the web of your hand contacts the riser. This helps cut down on arrow drag as it passes over the rest.
Hope this helps and is clear enough otherwise give me a call at 360-989-6355 and I'll try to help by phone.
