Got a new to me bow with some questions...

While on vacation and at a friends house i noticed a short recurve that looks like kodiak mag. But it does not have a coin or anyplace a coin might have been. It has no screen print on it that i can tell. And after looking at it in the sunlight i noticed some very faint writing on the handle. I think it says "MAGNUM" in cursive and then says 50 something #'s at 28". Can you pull a 48" nock to knock bow back 28" Any way my friend tells me he picked it up at the neighbors garage sale and paid 5 bucks for it. He then gave it to his then 14 year old son who is now 17 and about 6'6" tall. I asked the kid what do you want for it he said ten bucks. So it got to come home with me. I want to know if i can shoot this or not it would be a sweet blind bow.

Probably can shoot it if it's not delaminating anywhere. There's a lot of deflex in the riser on a short bow like that, which aids in handling a longer draw length, and it should handle a 28-inch draw length. You may notice some finger pinch though.

I didn't even think of the finger pinch. It has a little limb twist i am going to remedy later on tonight. Worst case scenario im down 10 bucks with a black eye. LOL

Sounds like you are describing a Super Mag "48".
Straighten the limb twist, put a good B50 Dacron string on it, and shoot the snot out of it.
If not, heck, I'll give ya' $20 for it.

It could be i am not sure. What gets me is it doesn't have any real markings on it. I need to get a picture of it on here and see what the gang thinks. I think i will hang on to my 10 dollar investment i appreciate the offer of doubling what i paid for it though. LOL I need to start another post on how to remove limb twist. Got some more questions about it.

Do a search on limb twist. You will find plenty of help.
