Yesterday morning my Montana longbow fell off the roof of my wife's car as she pulled away. I was transfering hunting gear from vehicle to vehicle and forgot to grab it before she took off....bummer. It got pretty dinged up. Has some small chips out of the finish of the limb edges and a good abrassion on one of the limb ends. Fortunately the laminates didn't come apart or anything, it's all cosmetic. I need to know how to remove the dings and refinish the bow. Also, since I'm going to refinish it, I want to change the grip a little and make it more "hand friendly". The grip on this is like holding a 2"x4" and all squared off. I would like to round it out just a bit. Can I just use a file to do that? I don't want to mess this bow up any further, but I want to be able to get it as good as it was or better. Thank god I haven't got my J.D. Berry Viper yet...That would P!$$ me off to NO end...lol
Thanks!
