Stone knife
« on: December 31, 2008, 12:33:00 PM »
This is a stone knife I put together for a friend for the "Secret Santa" on Primitive Archer. The blade was made by a young friend, also named Patrick Brennan. Patrick is 18 now and has been making beautiful stone blades and arrow hears for about 4 years or so.
The blade was hafted into the antler handle with pine pitch glue and wrapped with backstrap sinew then sealed with pine pitch varnish. The stand for the knife is a found shed antler mounted to a slab of black walnut with a linseed oil finish.
  Hope you enjoy!     Pat

Very well put together. The stand and knife fit like a glove.

Yummy looking knife for sure!

Thanks Sal. Lil Pat is an incredible knapper for any age but at 18 he amazes me.

Moderators...I have been informed that these pics are too big. I took them in high res to send them off to someone that requested it and forgot to resize them before I posted them here. Most of my other pics were taken in low res. If they can be resized here them I will or a mod can. If not, please feel free to delete them.  I am sorry for the mix-up.     Pat
