Does anyone know is there is a 150 grain insert available that would work with the Carbon Express Arrows?

100gr.brass inserts are the heavyst inserts i know of.You can use a variety of adaptors and point weights to achieve the weight you want up front.3-Rivers has a PDP Adjustable Weight System where you screw weights into a special insert.I don`t know if you can stack the weights together or not.The way it reads in the catalog,i think you can.Call them up and ask them about it.They also have weight tubes to add total weight to your arrow.

Apologies in advance if this is too obvious, but you can always screw three of the 50g inserts together.  The back ends are threaded on the ones I've used before.  Just checked the 100g inserts I have, and it doesn't look like they're threaded...

My 50 grainers are not threaded on the back. They look about the same as the 100s but shorter.

The ones I was referring to are called "PDP" weights, I believe.  They're not actually inserts themselves, but screw into the back of the threaded aluminum inserts, and they are stackable.

The last PDP weights that I bought, I got from Black Widow.  Don't know for sure if they still carry them or not.  Good luck.

One other note concerning the PDP weights... I quit using them and went to the brass inserts because I didn't like that much weight floating behind the point insert.  About one out of every three times I hit something hard with one of my weighted arrows, the insert would either be forced out of the end of the shaft a little, or it would push back and mushroom the arrow.

The weights are a smaller diameter than the inserts, and I have a funny feeling that it created some unnecessary wear and tear on the front end of the shafts.  You can achieve a good glue bond the entire length of the brass inserts, but not so with the PDP weights.

It's a poor analogy, but I felt like the rear weighted inserts produced a "slide-hammer" effect on the points.  YMMV...

I'm not aware of a 150 grain insert.  The 50's we have here are threaded in the rear but the 100's are not.  I don't think you'd want to try to add 100 grains to the back of a 50.

Perhaps a heavier point or point adapter would be a better route.

David, we do have the 125 grain brass insert/adapter combo's, but I think he's talking about the brass screw in inserts.

The insert/adapters are pretty slick, and they cost less too.

why not use 3 50grain Gold Tip weights?
You can put them in and remove them easily.

I want to thank all of you for the responses. The reasons I was specifically searching for a 150 grain brass insert are as follows:

1.   Wanted to shoot CE Maxima 350’s close to 29.5”-31” length  which would put right around 600 grains with possibly Extreme FOC (>19%).
2.   The 150 grain inserts would open up more options for the guy shooting in the mid 50’s to low 60’sixties who wants EFOC and still wants to keep their total arrow weight down.
3.   Wish to stay in the 125 to 150 pt range due to my number one quarry being turkey. My tentative successful set-up will focus on 125 to 150 grain BH’s.

     4.    Several of us trad guys shoot Techna-Hunt weekly. The 150 grain mushroom tips are the largest available.

I will be considering the PDP as well as the Gold Tip inserts options.

Please continue to provide any feasible options.
