« on: January 02, 2009, 01:12:00 PM »
Hey guys, I am having a hard time located someone that sells seal skin for rest material.  I use to order it from 3 rivers but don't see it on their website anymore... any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ed at ABS went through horrific things with Feds or whatever it is..he had to get it directly from Native AK who can market it and make products. Ed put a lot of time and energy into that over the years.

I "think" 3R bought through Ed...dunno for sure. I love the stuff. I saw someone post recently that it "wore easy".

I've had it on my morrison for several years and shoot real consistently...with a "pivot point" under it...and mine hadn't worn! I do recommend the "Barge Cement" as Ed suggests, and leave it to dry overnight before shooting... voice of experience!  :)

Last I heard ABS will no longer be carrying the seal skin.  I could not find it on ABS's website.

Oh no   :help:   ---no more seal skin?---the shelf on the Whisper is going to get cold in about 2 years---the present patch has been on for about  8 months, the first lasted nearly 3 yrs before showing hide.

Go to the forbidden auction site and get yourself an old seal skin cap or garment. You will have a lifetime supply of arrow rests.
