I'm just the opposite of huckbuck when it comes to whitetail hunting. Over the past few years I have totally lost interest in deer hunting altogether. Hogs are increasing expoentially in this part of the country and is only going to get better. The only problem I have is that you can't hunt the NWRs and WMAs year round and they are starting to get strict on these public places about the weapons that can be used to hunt with. I used to hunt with my bow on public lands for the entire hunting season and the wardens did't care about my using a bow. Now it is strictly the authorized weapons for that season. I really think it is going to become more heavily regulated as time goes by. Maybe that's a good thing for the wildlife populations and the future of hunting, I don't know!  More to the point, if you really like deer hunting I would say keep your lease.

I am against any of us getting used to paying over 100.00 per month to hunt.

I don't know, that's a tough one!!!! I sure wish I had that problem!!!! LOL
I'd have to go with Hattrick on this one deer during season and hogs the rest of the year.

The Delta is an awesome place to hunt!  Its also hard to learn, unless you've fished it or been there a bunch.  The Indain Mounds keep calling my name....guess I'd better get the waders out and head for the Swamp.

I think I'd definitely go hog hunting!  It's a shame that it has come to paying that much, although I know others pay much more in other states.  Nature of the beast I guess.

Hogs all of the way. No way that I could afford $1300 for the year anyways, but I would love to find a place to hunt hogs year round for cheap.
Ask me about CTO.

Man am I spoiled. I would never pay that much to hunt a whitetail. I'll take the Hogs.

I wish I could find a lease in Michigan for only $1300 per year. I'm stuck hunting with every other guy and gal on public land. And if any of you know Michigan, that don't leave alot of room between you and the next hunter.   :smileystooges:
Especially during the firearms season. I just hide lol.   :goldtooth:

I'd keep the deer lease. If you feel the need for variety then go chase the pigs for free.
