Our bow season ended yesterday (Jan 4th) with a whimper and a doe tag in hand. It snowed on average 4"-6" every 4-5 days in December and it was well below zero for most of the month (20 below at my farmstead this morning), the most snow fall we've had up here in years. The deer yarded up earlier than usual and I haven't even seen a deer in bow range for the better part of 2 weeks...
Oh well, now I have all winter to shoot in the basement, experiment with arrows, and look at adding another recurve or two to the rack.
Have to say that I'm extremely impressed with the 52#@28" 58" Lee TD Hunter that worked it's way into the starting line up over the Summer.
It edged out both my 60" Kota Prairie Swift (no easy task) and my 60" CM Hunter II.
Sure wish CM would slim down the handle on the H2 riser, it would be a much more shootable bow for a guy with average sized mitts. I understand liability, but no other TD riser I've seen has such a "generous" amount of wood...
Hey Magnus, how about a screw in 2 blade of 150 grains with a Tanto Tip like the Stinger/Buzzcut, please?. Love the 125, just would like a bit more weight and to not have to grind some off re-shaping that spear point...
My personal goal, and something I wish all of us here try to do, is get one of our compound shooting buddies to try Trad this year...
Lastly I wish everyone on Tradgang a great 09'. Times are tough but as long as we have bows to shoot and each other to bounce things off of, we'll be OK...
