Jim Dougherty natural aluminum arrow
« on: January 06, 2009, 11:59:00 AM »
I obtained some Aluminum arrows that are gray in color and marked Jim Dougherty natural on the side od the arrow. I have been around archery for a while but have seen one of these before.

Can anyone give me any information on when these shafts were made.

Kato:
As I recall they were made in the late 70's to early 80's. They are Easton Aluminum, just anodized a different color with Jim's name added.

I used to shoot them in the early 90's. I bought them from Jim's shop in Tulsa. Tripper

I had some of them and he made also some camo ones the Supernatural. I loved them and they looked to be of a better quality than a standard xx75, very dull and non reflective. Jim made some unusual spines too like the 2217. And best of the best he disigned the Serpent, the most beatyful camo arrow ever made. They simply vanished in the woods like a real serpent. I woul like that camo pattern would be still produced. Felix

I have 3 doz Dougherty Naturals in 2117. Have them all crown dipped, fletched and been using them now for 3 yrs. Great color, wish Easton would recreate them. The Platinum are similiar but brighter in color. The other shafts I really like are Bear Archery's Metric Magnums. Great bronze finish in a X7 shaft.
