carbon shaft deflection ? ad and goldtip
« on: January 06, 2009, 03:21:00 PM »
i see that gt 7595s are a 340 shaft and the ad trads are 300 but im seeing alot of people shooting them with roughly the same stuff i am.  it takes over 400 gr up front on the gts at full lenght.  and they are a bit heavyer than i like 830.  if im looking to be in the 670 range should i try the trads or the trad lights?
im shooting a shrew 58 at 28 drawn to 29.

I shoot AD Trad's out of my Griffin 61#@28 I draw 27",the AD's are 30" BOP with 175 gr. point giving me a total weight of 565 grs..With 100 gr. brass inserts and 125 gr. point they group right with the AD's with just a 175 gr. point. The ones with the 100 gr. inserts and 125 gr. point weigh right at 620 grs.

sounds like the deflection numbers dont really relate to tunabilaty,  so the trads with 100 brass and 175 tip, which so happens to be what i have, wil end up at haah 670 wow lucky math, i am drawing around 61lbs so i should be right on the money.

The deflection numbers on AD's don't seem the same to me as other carbon shaft to me.The AD Trad's say .300 but they don't seem as stiff as my Beman MFX 300's.I shoot these out of my 21st Century Nova 70#@27,but these are way to stiff for my Griffin 61#@28.
