Get the hood as well.  I have sat in windy, near blizzard conditions and as long as I had the hood on, I was fine.  It is pretty good size and covers the shoulders, keeping body heat in.  I can sit in temperatures in the teens, with wind.  I usually wear one of the moisture wicking long sleeve shirts and a medium weight flannel shirt under Ron's gray longhunter shirt. And if it's really cold I wear a fleece  or knit hat under the hood.  Unless I'm walking/stalking, then I lose the flannel.  Well worth the $$$ and ya don't need camo. ronp

Ronp is right - that hood makes a big difference.

Ya I've been wanting to get a brown; and a gray with the hood for real cold. It is hard to find Coats that you can shoot in the cold and the wind without them being caught in the bow. I can see that these would be ok. Those Shrew Hawks look pretty good to, there welded with higher carbon steel for the edge area and lower carbon steel for the hafting area, very smartly done.

Bucky,

Yep!! I wear wool from head to toe, inside and out.  :bigsmyl:  If it get's real cold I put a couple of hand warmers down inside my shirt, I have two pockets that are were my kidneys are, that helps keep my core tep. up and I stay nice and warm. Sometimes too warm, but it's great for long cold days on stand or ground hunting.

Heading out this weekend, we are get up too a foot of snow by Sat. night.  :bigsmyl:  Sunday the deer should be up and feeding!

Hey Bucky,

I don't know if a guy could have a enough on in the temps we have now!      :scared:      Our low was -15  with -35wind chill. I would be afraid my bow or arrows would shatter if I shot them.      :campfire:

When its cold I wear mine underneath my wool huntin coat as a extra layer of insulation. I carry my wool coat till I get to where I am going to hunt then put on my coat as needed. Cold being around 0 degrees. I am going to order the hood to go with it as I feel it is a plus to keep the neck warm. Quality made garment.
