Praise for Alaska Bowhunting and the GrizzlyStik Alaskan
« on: January 10, 2009, 12:35:00 PM »
The topic of whether or not the GrizzlyStik is worth the money is a perennial one here.  For what it's worth, I believe the answer to be yes.

I was fortunate enough to get a half dozen GrizzlyStik Alaskan Arrows for Christmas this year and from my HH Halfbreed, they shoot much better than anything else I've tried.  My bow, already quiet is now much quieter and I have full confidence these shafts will fly as well as I can fire them.

Further, one of the shafts came damaged - a fact I didn't notice for a day or so.  We called Alaska Bowhunting and within a day, they had a replacement shaft on my doorstep.

I couldn't be happier with the product or with the service and plan on purchasing more.  All of the rest of my arrows (aluminums - Easton mostly) are now squirrel / rabbit shafts.

G/Khan....what specs is your Hill and what is ur Grizzlystick set up. I've been thinking of putting some through my Halfbreed but am unsure as what to get. I'm shootin 52# @ 27" out of 68"bows. I use a back quiver most of the time so i don't like arrows over 29". Woodies are my first choice but just getting to pricey here in Oz.cheers Ben

I'm shooting a HH Halfbreed - 60# @ 29".  The arrows are full length GrizzlyStik Alaskans with 125 grains up front.

They seem to fly great for me.  They are heavy, especially compared to the aluminums I was used to but that's fine by me.

One thing I won't be doing with these - no more shooting groups for me.  :-p

I am shooting Alaskans on a 64" acs with 300 grain tuskers. They fly well for me out of that bow.

I have become a huge fan of tapered shafts. I have mainly been shooting GrizzlyStiks and AD Trad lites since summer. Both these shafts are easy to tune and fly well from all my longbows and recurves. The aren"t cheap and I have tried cheaper brand carbons but just can't get them to fly laser straight in all my bows. One bow will shoot gold tips best another carbon express and so on. I think it's cheaper and far less trouble in the long run to have a few dozen tapered shafts that fly in all my bows like a laser.
