I was wondering which bowstring materal you like for Recurves and  longbows..

I always ask the bowyers preference. On my Shrews I shoot 450+ on my Schafers I shoot Std.Fast Flight as well as my Stewart longbows. Big Ed

i,ve always used dacron B-50 never saw a need to try anything else. traditional to me means keeping it simple. dacron is easy to get and work with.no fancy calculations needed. 14-16 strand 3-ply for your avg hunting bow.never had one break

With the exception of one older bow all my recurves and longbows have D97.

I like D97 on my longbows,on recurves I'll ask the bowyer if it can handle the newer materials.Dacron only on my older recurves.

D97 for me too unless it's an oldie that needs B50.

D-97 on all my bows. Kevins son at RERBows makes the best strings I have shot, don't know if they sell them seperate though. Shawn

I'm using TS-1 on all my bows except the Groves. I find it quieter and added some "zip" to my arrow flight. I also have D97 strings but for now, I'm staying with TS-1.
