I had a moment this year that will stick for a while..
One evening I watched a heavy beamed 4x4 (Probably a 3 year old) "Through" the platform of my Lone Wolf Assault.. The platform was only 8 feet off the ground. I really would have loved to have a remote camera set up. That too is when I realized rubber boots and rubber coated cables under pressure will squeak..   :banghead:
Many have died for my freedom.
One has died for my soul.

The last deer I shot with a bow is a story that will stick with me forever.

I was hunting with a bud on public hunting here in Kansas and had found "the spot".  A great ground blind on a busy trail that, in the morning, would have the sun at my back.

He set up about 100 yards to the north of me, within sight of each other.  I was sitting, waiting, and enjoying the morning when-crunch, crunch, crunch-here he comes.  "Wait, wait, wait" I tell myself.  Perfect, he stopped right in the shooting lane.

I drew the Wasp recurve and let the shaft fly.  Crack, the perfect shot.  The buck takes off running toward my bud.  Right up the trail.

Just as the buck stops, he comes to full draw.  The 8 point turns a circle and falls over dead.  Less than 10 yards from a full draw archer.

Needless to say, the words he had to say were choice, and not for polite company.
