Braveheart Archery and Tim Harms!!!!
« on: January 16, 2009, 02:45:00 PM »
Well what can I say what a great sponsor and even better guy. I was in Kansas City this week for work and had Thursday night free. I thought Tim was around there so I e-mailed him to see if he was and in fact from my hotel he was less than 15 minutes. Tim said sure come on over. I was greeted at the front door by Tim and it seemed like we had known each other for a long time. We headed to his shop downstairs and he brought out a couple of Firefly bows and his own personal Firefly. I had asked about them as I had never shot them or held one. Tim strung both of the ones he had in stock up and I proceeded to draw one as he headed out in 0 degree weather to get a target he returned and we headed out back in the dark so I could get an impression of these bows. What a bow, fast, quiet, dead in the hand and the craftsmanship Jim puts on these Fireflys was very, very good. I am very picky about craftsmanship and this is a bow I would definitely purchase. Well after freezing for about 10 minutes we went back in and Tim showed me his broadhead sharpening technique and them we sat and talked all things archery. One of his daughters surprised us with some home made chocolate chip cookies. Well we talked for a few hours and I left with a new friend and for sure a shop to purchase quality goods from. Tim Thank you and your family for your hospitality for this out of town traveler. Flint

Funny you should start this thread I had the same thought.  I just spent a week with multiple pms and advice.  I ended up buying one of those firefly bows it came yesterday.  What a great bow and a great guy to talk to .  Its just nice to know that there are people who care like Tim out there.  Good job and thanks  Tim!!!

I christened my Firefly yesterday.  It is the new pretty one I got off Jim toward the end of last year.  They posted my critique of it in the product reviews section of this site.

I am in New Zealand at the moment on holidays with folks.  The countryside is just beautiful here and overflowing with critters.  There are heaps of feral turkeys, hares, rabbits, goats etc.  I had a couple of long shots at a big hare and missed.

On the way back to the car, going through a pine forest, I saw a clump of something black.  It was actually a feral turkey that had been killed by the feral cat.  I did not see the cat at first because it was black - the same as the turkey.  Fortunately it had not seen me so I was able to sneak up behind a tree and dispatch the wretched brute.

I love my Firefly - so fast and whisper quiet - the old cat did not hear it coming!!

Jim is the best guy to deal with as well.  So along with mt awesome Turkey Creek, I have the two best bows available.

Flint, I had a great visit as well.  Thanks for stopping by.

I'm glad you liked the Firefly.

You know, that bow does happen to be for sale.   :biglaugh:
