cabon arrows for 48#

i have been shooting cx herritage 150 shafts from my 53# longbow and like them very much. i recently ordered a new lb that will be 48# @ my 29" draw. the cx herritage 90's are not but 29" long so they will not work. i don't want to add too much more weight to the 150's because of trajectory. was thinking about gold tip 35/55 but the one that i got from my son only weighs about 450 gr.(i think). are there any more lighter spine cabons that i can keep my weight up with? or will dropping 5# in weight make much differance in spine?

Beman classics or Team Real Tree in the 500 spine should be great in that bow. Same arrow except the classic is wood grained while the TRT is black.. They are about 31 1/4 full length.

Try the 150's and see how they shoot. Really carbons are quite universal and work out of a wider range of bow weights.

I use a lot of GT 35-55 and Vapor 2000 shafts on my bows that are 45# - 48# (even one 50# bow).  I typically keep the weight range at 10 to 12 GPP by using a high FOC (heavy point and/or insert). This set-up offers good trajectory and excellent performance on game.

Stick with the 150's. They shoot great out of my 48# longbow, and my 57#.

I have had good luck with the 150's and the 35-55 out of my bows and I shoot everything from around 50 to 56 pounds at 29 1/2 inches. Try your 150's first. I put about 275 grains on the front of both shafts and they go like darts. They GT's weigh in at a total at 562 grains with a 100 grain brass insert and 175 grain points. The 150;s come out a bit heavier due to the shaft weight being higher. Good luck!

I shoot Beman ICS Hunters and Axis both in the 500 series with 200-250 grains up front 28 1/2".  They fly great for me from 45-55#...Doc

I'm shooting the grizzly stik sitkas out of mine... 49# @ 26"... tipped it with a 75 gr insert, 50 gr insert weight, and a 125 gr head for 200 gr up front, on a 28.5" sitka.  Total arrow weight is just under 540 gr, and they shoot well!
