Bow Hush on Long Bows
« on: January 19, 2009, 10:11:00 PM »
Has anyone put a Bow Hush (with out puppies) on a Long Bow and noticed any difference in sound?  Are they just for the string slap on a recurve?

For string slap on a recurve, the puppies quiet the string twang. Just adding weight on a longbow string using Hush IMO.

I've only used it on a recurve for the string slap.Like said I can't see it helping on a longbow other then adding weight to the string.

Yes...it CAN help dampen noise on some longbows....some of those bows made of carbon that have a ping/ring to them...or some that have R/D that are a bit loud it can help.

I have it on one of my longbows because it did help.  But it is not needed on most.

And as far as adding wieght......the actual amount of yarn put on the string don't weigh squat.

I just emailed ya....

Yes, it made a big difference for me.  Reason was likely string slap due to a 32" draw, and weak limbs (56#@32").  Nice stuff!!!!!

Hmmmm. my long bow is pretty darn quiet. Never thought I would need to add any thing.

I just realized I should have been more specific   :banghead:

It's for a RER LX which is R/D.

The bow isn't loud but I just want to make it as quiet as I can.
