Brace Hieght?
« on: January 23, 2009, 02:27:00 PM »
Hello to all.  I just bought a new Longbow, 68" and 45#.  I can't find any info on what the brace height should be.  It is sitting on 8" and seems to be alright but I just want to make sure.  Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks

Try taking it down .25" at a time all the way down to 7.25"

For the length of your bow, 7.75" should be good. If 8" is shooting great, stick with it, but if the bow doesn't get much louder and the arrows don't do anything weird, try lowering the brace height .25" at a time. When you find something that kinda works, you can try moving at 1/8" at a time.

You're looking for good cast without it being loud or twangy.

Thank you very much.  It makes a loud noise when I shoot it now so I bet it needs to come down a good 1/2 inch.  Thanks for your help, seany916.
