One for Rob Peel
« on: January 27, 2009, 08:40:00 AM »
I didn't want to get in any trouble for posting this, so made sure to read the rules again!
This is hunting related, and IS a hunting knife!
Anyway, Rob asked me to make a knife for him to take on his upcoming Texas hog hunt.
Some of you know that Rob is from England. What others may not know is that he and his wife are moving to the US and are at this moment packing!
They've been dealing with immigration for some time now to get everything legal.
Isn't that strange? Going through "Immigration" to make your move to the US legal?
Anyway, I got his knife done yesterday and sent him this photo.
He's a little busy and asked me to post this up here. Here's what he had to say"

  "HOT DIGGETY PIG!!!!!

That's just perfect mate, I couldn't be happier with it!
The Ironwood is delicious. Beautiful colour variation & the blade is .......well.....it's perfect. Just perfect!
Would you mind posting it up on TradGang please?  (I can't type well with this big of a grin on m'face!)
Thanks for everything Brother. I can't wait to meet you in person & shake your hand.
Take care my friend.
Rob."

This was a clay backed/hamon treated bladed forged from 2 inch round W2 tool steel.
The mild steel take-down fittings were hot-blued.
And the handle is a pretty nice piece of Desert Ironwood.
I'm proud to have made it for our friend.

When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Weeeeee!   :D    :D    :D    :D

I am a happy little piggy today!   :clapper:

Karl has had his work cut out for him with this 'un, I've never ordered a custom blade before & it's hard, indecisive work being on the other side of the buying process!   :biglaugh:

Can't thank or praise you highly enough Karl. Thanks Brother!
